Peter “Pete” Seeger (May 3, 1919 – January 27, 2014)

Iconoclastic American singer, songwriter and social activist. He helped write, arrange or revive such perennial favorites as “If I Had a Hammer”, “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?”, “Kisses Sweeter Than Wine”, “Turn! Turn! Turn!” and popularized the anthem of the civil rights movement, “We Shall Overcome”.

A 20th-century troubadour, a civil rights activist and a legendary folk singer who believed deeply in the power of song … RIP.
